Breaking: IRCC Issues More ITAs in Latest Express Entry Draw!

Increased Invitations for PNP Candidates

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued a new round of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through the Express Entry system, with a focus on Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates. The latest draw issued 646 ITAs to candidates with a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 750, provided they had created their Express Entry profile before 5:41 pm UTC on July 23, 2024.

Recent Express Entry Draws

This marks the third Express Entry draw of the month, following a PNP-specific draw on February 4, which invited 455 candidates, and a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draw on February 5 that issued 4,000 ITAs. Since early 2025, IRCC has prioritized Express Entry draws for PNP and CEC candidates, with larger selection sizes for the CEC category.

Notably, category-based draws for French speakers, healthcare workers, and tradespeople have not been conducted despite these groups being designated as priority categories under the 2025-2027 Immigration Levels Plan. IRCC has allocated 41,700 permanent resident landings to these groups in 2025.

Should You Enter the Express Entry Pool with a Low CRS Score?

Even if your CRS score is currently low, entering the Express Entry pool can be beneficial for several reasons:

  1. Fluctuating CRS Cut-off Scores: CRS scores vary over time, and what seems low now could become sufficient in future draws.

  2. Tie-breaking Rule Advantage: Candidates who create their Express Entry profile early benefit from the tie-breaking rule, increasing their chances of selection in case of score cut-offs.

  3. Opportunity for Score Improvement: While in the pool, candidates can work on improving their CRS score through language proficiency, work experience, or educational advancements, which are updated in real-time without requiring a new profile.

  4. Access to Multiple Immigration Pathways: Being in the pool allows candidates to be considered for additional immigration programs such as enhanced PNP streams and region-specific pilot programs, increasing overall opportunities for permanent residency.

With evolving Express Entry trends and IRCC's strategic selection processes, staying updated and maintaining an active profile in the pool can enhance your chances of securing an ITA. Candidates should continually explore ways to boost their CRS scores and consider alternative immigration pathways to improve their prospects for Canadian permanent residency.
