The Applicants process - It is a Two-Step Process:

2. Application Submission: Endorsed candidates submit their applications to the AAIP, detailing their job offer, qualifications, and the endorsement received. The key steps for applying:

Before applying, it is important to note that you can have only one application in progress at a time under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).

Step 1 - Confirm Eligibility: Ensure you meet the individual eligibility criteria set out for the Rural Renewal Stream. Eligibility criteria vary depending on whether you're a temporary foreign worker or a refugee under the Economic Mobility Pathway Pilot (EMPP).

It's mandatory to obtain a Candidate Endorsement letter from an approved community. Additionally, EMPP refugees require a Referral Partner letter. Fulfilling all eligibility conditions is essential for application. If your application doesn't satisfy the necessary criteria, it will be rejected.

You'll need to provide evidence in your application that you meet the eligibility requirements. Acquiring some of this documentation, like language proficiency test results, might require additional time.

Step 2 - Obtain Community Endorsement: Secure an endorsement from a designated rural community in Alberta, which typically involves the community confirming your job offer and their support for your settlement.

Step 3 - Gather Necessary Documents: Compile all required documentation, such as proof of work experience, language proficiency, education credentials, and any other items specified by the AAIP.

Step 4 - Submit the Application: Send your application to the AAIP along with all required documents and the community endorsement. The AAIP accepts only online applications for the Rural Renewal Stream. To apply you must: Complete and submit the online application, and pay the required application fee.

It's crucial to keep your Alberta.ca Account details private and accurate to avoid unauthorized changes or misinformation. Any incorrect or fraudulent information provided can lead to application rejection and potential future restrictions on applying to the AAIP.

Step 5 - Pay the Application Fee (if applicable): A charge of $500 is mandatory for every online application. Once submitted to the AAIP, the application fee is non-returnable, and no refunds will be issued for any reason. This fee is necessary for processing your application, irrespective of whether you receive a nomination certificate from the AAIP. Receipt of a nomination certificate is not assured. 

After your application submission, you will eventually be notified of the final decision regarding your application.

If your application is accepted: Upon approval of your application, you'll be designated as a Provincial Nominee and receive a nomination package via email. The package will provide detailed instructions for you and any dependents on how to proceed with applying for permanent residency through IRCC.

If your application is rejected, you'll receive notification via email. It's important to carefully review the reasons for the rejection detailed in the email. If you believe there was a mistake in the evaluation of your application, you might have the opportunity to seek a review by submitting a request for reconsideration.

For reconsideration, each petition for reevaluation incurs a $100 service charge. Only a single reevaluation request is permitted for each application.
