Canada Immigration Alert: Ontario Stream Closure & BC’s New PNP Draws

The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has formally closed its Entrepreneur Stream as of November 4, 2024, following a suspension of application intake since December 2023. The provincial government has confirmed it is implementing final steps to “wind down and close” the stream.

Current Applicants:
All pending applications in the Entrepreneur Stream will continue to be processed under updated regulations. Candidates who have previously submitted applications and demonstrated commitment to establishing businesses in Ontario may still be eligible for a provincial nomination for permanent residence. The OINP will be reaching out to all current applicants and their representatives in the coming days with detailed instructions on the next steps for their applications.

British Columbia: Recent PNP Draws

The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BCPNP) conducted two rounds of selections on November 5 and 6, targeting entrepreneurs and skilled workers.

Entrepreneur Streams – November 5
Two selections were held for the Entrepreneur Base and Regional Entrepreneur Streams, issuing a total of at least 11 Invitations to Apply (ITAs). Each stream had distinct cut-off scores:

Skilled Worker and International Graduate Stream – November 6
