Express Entry: IRCC Invited 5,000 Canadian Experience Class Candidates
Canada has issued 5,000 ITAs to Canadian Experience Class candidates in its latest Express Entry draw. Discover details about draw trends and CRS scores.
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has conducted the latest Express Entry draw, inviting 5,000 candidates from the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) to apply for permanent residency. To qualify, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 510.
This draw marks the ninth one for an exceptionally busy month for Express Entry, with a total of 25,125 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) issued throughout July.
Alternating Draw Types
This month's draws have alternated between program-specific selections, such as the CEC and Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), and category-based selections. Category-based draws have focused significantly on candidates with French language proficiency, issuing 5,000 ITAs across two draws. Additionally, IRCC invited 3,750 healthcare professionals on July 5 and 1,800 trade workers on July 4.
High Number of ITAs Issued
Program-specific draws have also seen a significant number of ITAs. As of July 31, IRCC has invited 11,300 Canadian Experience Class candidates and 3,275 PNP candidates. These candidates often already live and work in Canada as temporary residents. The return to program-specific draws on May 30, after a year-long hiatus, aligns with IRCC's plan to hold more domestic-focused draws.
New Immigration Goals
In March, IRCC introduced a new goal to reduce and stabilize the number of temporary residents in Canada while meeting its permanent resident targets as outlined in the Immigration Levels Plan.

Express Entry System Overview
The Express Entry system manages applications for three of Canada’s major economic immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, and the Federal Skilled Trades Program. It uses the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) to evaluate candidates based on factors such as age, education, work experience, and language abilities. The system aims for faster processing, with a service standard of six months, ensuring that high-skilled candidates can swiftly contribute to Canada’s workforce.
