Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued invitations to apply (ITAs) to 2,000 candidates in the latest Express Entry draw, focusing on those with French language proficiency. Candidates required a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 394.

This is the third draw of the week, following a program-specific draw on August 14, which saw 3,200 Canadian Experience Class candidates invited, and an August 13 draw where 763 Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates received ITAs with a minimum CRS score of 690.

July witnessed an unprecedented number of Express Entry draws, with over 25,000 ITAs issued across nine draws, marking the highest number since the system's launch in 2015. Among these, category-based draws included those for French language proficiency, healthcare occupations, and trade occupations.

The draws reflect IRCC's goal of prioritizing permanent residency candidates already in Canada, aligning with its strategy to reduce temporary resident numbers while meeting its permanent resident admissions target.
