Canada's Latest Provincial Immigration Draws | Canada Immigration News

This week, several provinces, including British Columbia (BC), Quebec, Alberta, Manitoba, and Prince Edward Island (PEI), have extended invitations to candidates through their respective PNPs. These draws aim to address labor market needs, support economic growth, and enrich local communities across Canada.

British Columbia (BC):

  • British Columbia conducted two draws on April 30, 2024.
    • The first draw, a general draw, issued 47 invitations across five streams, with a minimum score requirement of 131.
    • Additionally, BC issued invitations in specific occupational draws for childcare, construction, healthcare, and veterinary care sectors.
  • These draws aimed to attract skilled workers and graduates who can contribute to BC's economy and address labor market needs.

Quebec:

  • Quebec held two draws on April 11 and April 25, 2024.
    • The first draw invited 1,036 candidates who demonstrated French proficiency and held a valid job offer.
    • The second draw invited 1,415 candidates with French proficiency, a job offer, and a minimum score of 598 points.
  • Quebec's immigration draws are focused on selecting candidates who can integrate well into the province's predominantly French-speaking society.

Alberta:

  • Alberta conducted its draw on April 17, 2024, under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).
    • This draw issued 49 Notification of Interest (NOI) letters to candidates in the healthcare pathway, requiring a minimum CRS score of 302.
  • Alberta's immigration programs target individuals with skills and experience needed to support the province's economic growth.

Manitoba:

  • Manitoba issued 451 Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) under a special immigration measure for Ukraine on April 30.
    • These LAAs were part of Manitoba's efforts to provide support to individuals affected by the situation in Ukraine.
  • Another draw on May 2 invited candidates from three streams: Skilled Workers in Manitoba, International Education, and Skilled Worker Overseas.
    • This reflects Manitoba's diverse immigration strategies to address labor market needs and attract skilled individuals to the province.

Prince Edward Island (PEI):

  • On May 2, PEI issued six invitations to candidates in the healthcare and construction sectors.
    • PEI's draws are aimed at filling labor gaps in key industries and supporting economic growth in the province.

These recent draws reflect the ongoing efforts of provinces across Canada to attract skilled workers, entrepreneurs, and graduates who can contribute to the local economy and communities.
